Beach Week '08

In late July, we packed the Jeep with enough clothes, toys, food, diapers, and excitement to last a month, then pointed the Jeep towards Gulf Shores AL. This trip was unique in that we were going to meet the Jolly's and spend the week together. The weather during our week there was beautiful. Gray and Wade had a blast, while Krista and I did not let them have all the fun by themselves. While Gray was fine-tuning his diving and swimming routine, Wade was in a one-boy sand eating contest! It is always a blessing to see and experience one of God's most beautiful creations.

Gray's 5!

It is amazing how quickly time can pass! On July 13th, Gray turned 5. He has been such as blessing to us and many others. Gray had narrowed his birthday party theme down to two: a swimming party or golf party. In the months approaching his birthday, he went back and forth. He even wanted to combine them somehow. In the end, he decided on the swimming party. It was a blast. Somewhere along the family line, there has to be an amphibian of some sort, because Gray would live in the water if we let him. The past 5 years have been a joy: watching him grow, explore, learn, develop his own unique personality, and bring laughter to our home. God has blessed us with this awesome boy!

Swim Lessons

It was an exciting week for the boys. Gray and Wade finished swim lessons this week. Gray can now float for at least 30 seconds, swim for short distances, dive to the bottom of the deep end to get sunken treasures, and pull himself out of the pool without a ladder. Wade loves to kick and splash and learned to go underwater while holding his breath. Gray loves jumping off of and doing tricks from the high dive. They had a blast and are ready for Gray's 5-year-old swim party coming up in a couple of weeks.

The boys have also been having

fun playing together outside, especially in the sand box. They love to chase each other, play ball, and ride in the PowerWheels Jeep together.

Wade's personality has been blossoming. He has great rhythm for a 14 month old. He and a friend recently showed their dancing moves while out at lunch. Check it out and have a great week!
